2015 The Knot Award Announced | Best Photographer

The results are in – True Photography has again been awarded the Best of Weddings Award for photography! This distinction is only given to the top 2% of wedding vendors showcased on The Knot, and is based on the best overall reviews by clients. We’d like to thank everyone who voted for us, and we are proud to be recognized as 2015 winners :)

In addition to our amazing photographers, we have a talented group of post-production specialists, designers, and support staff working on behalf of our clients. Our entire team works hard to ensure that our clients have the best experience possible. We sincerely appreciate all the dedicated specialists on our team who make our studio stand out year after year.

As well, our studio is now one of only a select few vendors featured in The Knot’s Hall of Fame. Thank you for making us the nation’s best-rated photography studio!

Wedding Photography Tips (Video) | Our Wedding Week Appearance on the CW

True Photography is the featured photographer for the CW’s Wedding Week, and our photos will be showcased throughout the week’s broadcasts. In fact, our very own Meghan was on The CW’s morning show yesterday! She talked about tips for preparing for your wedding day photography, in order to get the best results.

Meghan also shared a few examples of our favorite recent images, and had a nice chat with the host on live air :) Here are the tips she shared (and the video is below):

TIP #1: When looking for a photographer, we feel that the most important thing is to connect with the company’s work

First and foremost, choose a photographer’s work that INSPIRES you.
Put pricing aside at first so you can make the best decision.
If you initially love the style and quality of photography you see, chances are you are going to be super happy with your own photos.

TIP #2: Let your photographer know what is most important to you

As photographers, we’re an open book – we want to hear your thoughts! If you have initial ideas (likes, must-have photos etc) we’d love to hear them.
Tell us what you’re like as a couple (traditional, fun, a mix of both), and what your event will be like. This will give us inspiration.
We learn a lot by getting to know you. A great photographer will produce images that reflect you without you having to dictate every picture :)

TIP #3: Take time to enjoy the day. Don’t be afraid to have fun.

The key is to prepare up until the wedding day, and then enjoy the ride.
If you’re having fun and celebrating, this will show in your images.
There will be surprises. Just know that. Things happen, so just expect the unexpected!

Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive Photos | Best Costumes Day 1

It’s finally happened. We’ve been invaded by swamp people. Steps from our studio is an endless parade of dashing heroes, buxom heroines, and brave parental types with kids in tow. Together, it makes for a gigantic, lanyard-brandishing mass of costumed crusaders, zombies, warriors, and wizards. All have the same objective, a shared critical mission… get inside those doors!

We’re talking of course about Comic-Con, the annual fête of upcoming Hollywood releases, TV shows, and comics. Now in its fifth decade, Comic-Con has become the zeitgeist of pop culture, a place where hype is in full effect, expectations are high, and even causal fans get swept up in the madness. Early this morning, we grabbed our super-cameras, and ventured into the epicenter to capture the anticipation, meet new super-friends, and appreciate the awesome spectacle that is Comic-Con 2014.

No longer confined to the Convention Center, Comic-Con now permeates San Diego during its run, with immersive experiences in the Gaslamp, hush-hush film screenings, and celebrity sightings. Everyone seems to be getting into the spirit, from the San Diego Symphony to local fave Searsucker to the San Diego Law Library. There’s even at least one Batman-themed burlesque show across town. Not to mention the late night after-parties, where bleary-eyed enthusiasts schvitzing through their masks and costumes will dance the night away.

But that is all to come; as of this writing, the fun is just beginning.
