The Ideology — This was it. I knew it. From the first time I unexpectedly confessed my love to Mindy, randomly in the soup aisle while shopping at Vons nearly six years ago, I knew I was going to marry this girl. She had every quality I could have ever wanted and I could tell I made her happy. And so, in due time, the birth of my ideal proposal came to fruition.
The Location — The location was on a log at a quaint beach in Northern California, Jenner by the Sea, which is where the Russian River flows into the Pacific Ocean. I chose a place that I felt truly symbolized our evolving relationship and the huge, open “ocean” of love and accomplishment that the future has in store for us. Just before getting on one knee, I set up my iPod to play our song, Always and Forever, which played in the background as she said “I do”.
The Romantic Getaway — After the proposal, I whisked Mindy off her feet and surprised her with a relaxing weekend at the Nickerson cabin in Monte Rio, a small town on the Russian River. The Nickerson cabin has been in the family since the early 1900s, and a place I hold very dear to my heart. I wanted Mindy to experience its unique antiquity and reconnect our shared love for the mountains and fog. Throughout the weekend, we enjoyed wonderful food, a Korbel winery tour, a hike through a redwood forest, and of course long hours cuddling by the fire to keep warm. I can honestly say I wouldn’t have changed a single moment.
Choosing True Photography to capture our wedding day was the simplest decision we had to make. They listened to what we envisioned as our perfect day, and they added their creativity and talent to make the final outcome much more than we had expected. From the communications with the office staff to the photo shoots with the creative professionals, True Photography delivered in true fashion.
