Falling in Love All Over Again

By, March 18, 2016

In this Photo of The Week, taken at Green Gables Wedding Estate, the look on our groom Gavin’s face says it all. When he saw his bride Gheraldine for the first time that day, as she came down the aisle, he was completely captivated. It was like love at first sight.. all over again.

The image below is a prime example of the benefit of having multiple photographers. The first and second photographers work together in synchronicity, sometimes almost telepathically. In this instance, while all eyes were on the breathtaking bride, we were also able to capture her groom’s reaction simultaneously. It was a result of “true” teamwork :)

Green Gables Wedding Estate | Venue Spotlight

By, February 29, 2016

Tucked away in the secluded forests of San Marcos lies the rustic, elegant Green Gables Wedding Estate. A historical landmark dating back to 1889, this chic venue is well-known for its array of antique accents and lush, tranquil gardens. For couples seeking a rustic destination-style wedding, both Green Gables and its sister property Twin Oaks Garden Estate are popular choices, and strikingly beautiful locations.

One of Green Gables’ most prominent features is the Old Richland Schoolhouse, which overlooks the venue’s English-inspired garden ceremony site.

The building’s interior is decorated with regal Victorian furniture, with massive windows drawing in natural light.

Outside, the classic wooden swing (above right) brings out the joy and excitement of the day, and is one of our favorite spots to photograph.

At reception time, guests find their way to Green Gables’ impressive tented pavilion. With its draped-chiffon ceilings, and five crystal chandeliers, the pavilion’s intimate atmosphere is the perfect environment for a lively evening. We love pushing the envelope in such a beautiful space, and we use an array of lighting techniques to capture the scenery in creative ways.

As the party gets underway, and the dance floor heats up, we like to borrow the bride and groom for a series of fun night portraits. We use shooting methods (such as off-camera flash and long-exposure) to produce eye-catching images that are only possible at night :)

Fancy This Wedding | English Garden Inspiration Board

By, October 07, 2013

When we envision an English garden wedding, three words come to mind: classic, simple and refined.

To plan your own English garden soiree, we suggest starting with a venue that has manicured lawns, shrubs, flowerbeds and, of course, roses! These defining features will provide the perfect setting for your elegant affair. To create a romantic atmosphere, try a soft palette of pinks, dusty blues, creams and whites throughout your décor and attire. And for old-world charm, you can embellish your tablescapes with beautifully structured rose arrangements, vintage china tea-sets, and other knick-knacks!

If you fancy a royal princess makeover, we recommend a simple feminine gown incorporating bits of lace, and topped off with a single strand of pearls. Your Prince Charming will look dapper in a crisp, clean tux with a simple boutonniere. Timeless and elegant!

Check out our these examples of English garden charm at recent weddings we’ve photographed, and find your inspiration :)
