A Ruby Red Wedding at Orfila Vineyards & Winery | Stephanie and Sean

Just five months before their big day, Stephanie and Sean booked Orfila Vineyards and Winery for their dream wedding. Because Stephanie has a passion for wildlife, and Sean loves being active outdoors, the couple had always envisioned an outdoor wedding. Orfila was an ideal location to tie the knot, with its beautifully manicured lawns and view of the San Pasqual Valley agricultural preserve.

Sean began his romantic journey with Stephanie by proposing with a unique family ring, featuring a gorgeous Ruby center stone. Stephanie was so touched by his thoughtfulness that she decided to incorporate the ruby color of the ring into their wedding decor and attire.

To integrate his Jewish heritage, Sean was adamant about hand building the traditional chuppah that they were to be married under.

Just before sunset, on the gorgeous lawn overlooking our majestic vineyard in the San Pasqual Valley, the couple was married.

Ruby red accents were present throughout the entire event, including the flowers, the love notes written by the 120 close family and friends who attended, and the silk sash that wrapped around Stephanie’s lace wedding gown.

While guests sipped on award-winning Orfila wines, Stephanie and Sean enjoyed their first moments as husband and wife, and relaxed in our Old World Tasting Room.

Following the cocktail hour, guests gathered for a warm evening reception in our large tent. The tent was draped with market lights, setting the mood for a romantic and vivacious soiree.

A Timeless Orfila Winery Wedding in Yellow and Slate, Designed by First Comes Love

At First Comes Love, we take a team approach. Each wedding we plan is a collaboration of talented event professionals! Our process is to use our design, creativity, and deep industry connections to bring the best of the best together. The end result is a wedding that makes the most of your budget, and reflects your vision as a couple.

Recently, we planned the beautiful Orfila Winery wedding of Christine and Stephen. We started working with this great couple about a year before their wedding. The initial vision was a traditional Catholic ceremony, paired with a fun, bright vineyard reception.

For the wedding, Christine chose a gorgeous cap sleeve lace dress, paired with crystal embellished shoes by Badgley Mischka. She looked beautiful walking down the aisle of The Immaculata.

Following the ceremony, the wedding couple and their guests made their way to Orfila Vineyards and Winery, an award-winning boutique winery near the Wild Animal Park in Escondido.

At the reception site, we transformed a blank white tent into a vivid, elegant space. Throughout the tent were golds and yellows, slate gray, and ivory accents. The colors were a perfect balance of contrast for this couple’s cool, modern reception.

Details inside the tent included fresh yellow and white florals by Flora Glamor, mercury candy holders, and Chinese lanterns. The décor complemented the glowing amber market lights draped across the ceiling, and set a romantic and intimate mood for the evening.

The gorgeous buttercream cake, created by Edelweiss Bakery, featured a contemporary pattern to match the ambiance of the reception. The cake was placed in front of the picturesque vineyards, nestled in the San Pasqual Valley, and it became a focal point of the evening.

The reception was set up for friends and family to relax, chat, and enjoy local wine and beer. The entire wedding matched Christine and Stephen’s design style, and the evening was a beautiful reflection of a them as a couple!
