A Soft, Feminine Bridal Look by On Location Hair & Makeup | A Rancho Valencia Wedding

Anna Rose and Arturo planned a romantic and elegant wedding at Rancho Valencia Resort, a lush, 40-acre resort in Rancho Santa Fe. Anna Rose hired my studio, On Location Hair and Makeup, to create beautiful looks for her, her mother and five bridesmaids on the wedding day.

We met for a hair and makeup trial just two weeks before her big day. I enjoyed getting to know the bride-to-be, and hearing stories about how she and Arturo met.

Anna Rose has beautiful, thick blonde hair! We decided during the trial that loose soft waves would give her a flowy, feminine look. The idea was to match the romantic feel of her wedding day.

To create her hair design, I used the flat iron to create some loose waves, and added a simple braid to the side of her hair. I topped it off by applying my favorite cream to the waves, which made them separate and hold.

The braid added a fun, whimsical look, and it helped Anna Rose’s hair stay in place throughout the evening.

For make-up, we wanted to continue the soft look, in order to create a natural glow and rosy cheeks. I added a special moisturizer to the foundation to for a dewy effect. We went with pink lips, with a gloss on top.

When blending the eyeshadow, I used a shadow brush to gradually work the shadow into the eyelids. The technique I used was to flutter the brush many times on the lid.

When Anna Rose put on her wedding gown, she looked so beautiful! Her hair and makeup came together perfectly, and her dress to completed the look. When the music came on, you couldn’t help but feel the happiness and joy in the room.

For a cohesive look, we continued the braid work in some of the bridesmaids’ hair. Because each skin type is very different, we custom blended individual foundation colors for each member of the bridal party. We also used artificial eyelashes for some of our styles.

Anna Rose looked stunning as she walked down the aisle towards her soon-to-be husband. Every aspect of this wedding was breathtaking!

Outdoor Rancho Valencia Wedding with EverAfter Events | Brittany and Aaron

Brittany and Aaron are an adorable couple with a genuine joy and love. When planning their wedding at Rancho Valencia, the goal was to create an exquisite event, while allowing guests to feel comfortable and enjoy themselves.

To match the lush and luxurious atmosphere of Rancho Valencia, Blush Botanicals created a stunning bridal bouquet, which was wrapped in burlap, buttons and pearls. A photo of Brittany’s father was also attached as a special way to honor him on her wedding day.

Birttany was escorted down the aisle by her brothers at The Village Presbyterian Church in Rancho Santa Fe. She looked stunning in her tapered lace gown from The White Dress.

After the ceremony, guests lined up on either side of the church’s entryway to celebrate the newlyweds! In this adorable photo, you can see guests waving wands of burgundy and orange ribbon, and ushering the couple to their awaiting Rolls Royce.

The color palette for this gorgeous garden wedding included deep purple, burgundy, orange and touches of ivory.

The Croquet Lawn of the resort, with market lights draped overhead, made for a beautiful outdoor setting. Guests were able to relax and enjoy live music provided by Wayne Foster Enterainment.

The focal point of this affair was the breathtaking head table, which had a floral runner made of fresh blooms and driftwood. The table was lined with tall-footed candle holders, wrapped with a burlap accent.

In the tree directly behind the head table, rustic lanterns were hung to create a romantic backdrop.

Lighting is always key. Tim Altbaum Productions created the perfect look by carefully stringing the lights above the guest tables. That way, guests could comfortably dine and dance outdoors in a well-lit environment.

Brittany and Aaron’s wedding was stunning, and a great reflection of this couple!

The rain decided to grace our presence at 9:30pm, encouraging guests to move inside! Once in the ballroom, guests found that a DJ, Garrett’s popcorn and other snacks awaited them. It was a fabulous event with a warm and comfortable finale!

A Gorgeous Wedding at Rancho Valencia with Details Defined

At Details Defined, every client is our most important client. To prepare for each event, we create customized timelines that are painstakingly detailed around the needs of our client. Our clients are discriminating and selective, and so are we!

AnnaRose and Arturo were referred to Details Defined by a friend of the Bride. Since AnnaRose is busy running her family’s business, she wanted someone she could trust with major and minor details. We consulted with them from step one, starting with the selection of the date and location. We also guided them throughout the vendor selection process.

Our clients say our sense of calm is soothing during the planning, and especially on the wedding day. AnnaRose was relaxed on her wedding day, and was absolutely gorgeous.

AnnaRose’s family are flower growers, and the bride’s father named the rose well known throughout the floral industry as AnnaRose, after his beautiful daughter.

For over a year, we worked with AnnaRose, Arturo and The Father of the Bride Kenny Baca, who were instrumental in all the plans. They respected and trusted me and my team to do our jobs, and the end result was exactly what they wished for.

The elegant programs were designed by Carol Smith of Invitation Factory, and helped to keep the guests cool on a warm day. The escort cards and table names were also created to complement the gold tones throughout the wedding.

These themed “Lopez Libation” lavender whiskey sour signature drinks added a fun detail to the cocktail hour.

A canopy of lights over the croquet lawn at Rancho Valencia Resort was beautiful, from day to night, and the gorgeous desserts from VG Donut and Bakery coordinated nicely with the vibrant colors of the evening.

This couple and their families have left a lasting impression in my life. The sincere love between them, the friends and family who surround them, and the love and respect they all give to one another made this wedding beautiful from the inside out. AnnaRose said she enjoyed the process, and appreciated that she was able to relax and thoroughly enjoy the wedding!
