A new album has arrived at our studio, and it is beautiful! In celebration of Katie and Brian’s one year wedding anniversary, Katie’s mom decided to get the newlyweds a gorgeous album to showcase their wedding photos. What a great gift!
The album of choice was 10″x14″ horizontal “duo” album, meaning that it combines both matted and flushmount images throughout. Each of our duo albums are presented in a soft velvet bag, and placed inside a sturdy presentation box.
Katie and Brian tied the knot last September at Tower 23, one of San Diego’s award-winning beachfront hotels. The feel of the wedding was formal, yet sleek and contemporary, so the couple decided on a clean black and white cover for their album.
When making selections for your wedding album, we recommend choosing the most powerful images that tell the story of the day. We have found that this number typically falls around 80 images, though it can vary up or down from there. Although the impulse may be to add a lot of images to each page, a smaller selection actually makes an album more impactful. Once the images are chosen, we design the layouts to create the “story” of the day.
In the duo albums, some images are surrounded by ivory matting, while other flushmount images bleed out to the edges of the page.
Some of our favorite layouts include detail photos. For example, this spread incorporates a feature image of the deck lit up at night for the couple’s outdoor reception, as well as photos of the tablescapes just before dinner.
These albums are truly high quality books that are made to last a lifetime. The images will never peel or fade, and each page in the album is 1/8th inch thick!
The 10″x 14″ album is our most popular album size. When opened and laying flat, the album spans over two feet! We know that Katie and Brian will enjoy this album for many years to come. Happy anniversary, guys!
