Suggestion Box Approvals

Question/Comment

We should have a retouch competition! This is a random idea, but i thought it would be fun if Aaron or whoever, gives us a tough retouch assignment and we compete on timing to see who can finish first for a fun prize of Aaron's choice (ex: a silly photo for "retouch MVP" on the wall..HA). Or any other cool prize incentive.
Just a thought.
Thanks for your consideration!

Question/Comment

Hello there!

I think the suggestion box should confidential and shared with only a couple known key members of management.

It feels very passive aggressive to leave an anonymous comment and most people want to stand by there ideas.

People just don't want to stick their necks out by offering out-of-the-ordinary, and possibly your most fruitful, suggestions.

I would make the feedback to people with suggestions private, especially since everyone is hesitant about participating in the suggestion box.

When an employee suggestion is implemented and it results in a reward, I would publicly acknowledge the contribution at a staff meeting, with the permission of the employee involved.

Another suggestion is to make a simple check box saying something like.

Please check ✅ if you would like us to openly discuss or pass on our idea to the whole team!
Thanks for your participation.

I have lots more suggestions but I'd rather share in person if all my comments are going to be public anyways.

One last thing... psychological speaking red is the color of passion, anger, and action.
I love "The Keep Calm and put your ideas in the Suggestion box" sign but it would be better in a soft grey, ice blue, soft neutral green or lavender color because those are calming, soothing colors.

Phew... hope that's good feedback!
Thanks Vanessa!

Question/Comment

Since we all seem to use the garage (except for the few that take the train). Wouldn't it make sense since we rotate spots, that we divide the amount of spots by the amount of people who use the garage? I think financially that makes a lot of sense to even it out for everyone. I know some people are part-time, so of course that would be have to be taken into account as well. But why are some of us paying $60/month, when others are paying $0? No big deal if this doesn't change, just a thought!

Answer / Response

Thanks for your submission! To answer your question, we already are splitting the cost evenly :) Currently we have 12 employees parking in the 6 tandem spots we have in the garage. All 12 employees pay $60 / month, which is equal to half of the total cost of the parking spots. As a benefit to employees, True Photography pays the other half of the total payment to the garage.

Question/Comment

What if at our Monday meetings we do a sort of 'show and tell' and each week someone different shares something about their personal lives... a way to get to know each other in a more personal way. I know a lot of the shooters work together more closely (and remotely) than say Meghan W, Aaron W or myself, but it would be nice to hear (and share) something about our families, interests, athletics, trips, events attending, kids, changes at home (moving, etc.).

A shuffle board table would be nice. I won't be noisy and it will contribute to staff morale :)
